One of
the ways in which St Andrew's takes part in the work of the wider church is by
our support of Christians in various ministry contexts, both in Australia and
overseas.
Among the ministries we
currently support is the work of Jean Phillips amongst Brisbane's Indigenous
community. We also support workers with such organisations as the Church
Missionary Society, Bush Church Aid, and Servants to Asia's Urban Poor.
Regular prayer and support
activities are also organised to this end.
St
Andrew’s is the employing authority for Anthony Foley, chaplain for Brisbane
State High School (just across the road!). The chaplaincy is conducted with the
approval of Education Queensland and offered to the school community.
Andrew provides support to
students, staff and parents, and help Christian students to develop effective
support groups on the school campus.
Small
group ministries provide a more personal level of fellowship and care for
members of the church. Small groups include study groups held at the church as
well as home-based groups. Small groups are
listed by suburb here. Contact the church office
for more details.
