Mission support

For over 100 years, St Andrew’s South Brisbane has been sending out missionaries and supporting workers in gospel-poor communities both in Australia and overseas. During this time, we have sent more than 30 full-time missionaries and many more short-term workers, to far-flung fields.

St Andrew’s South Brisbane currently provides financial, personal and prayer support to folk working in specialised ministries under the auspices of Church Missionary Society (CMS), Summer Institute of Linguistics Australia (SILA), The Bush Church Aid Society (BCA), Servants to Asia’s Urban Poor, Brisbane State High School (BSHS) Chaplaincy and Indigenous Christian Leadership.

We also provide personal and prayer support to a number of retired mission workers.

CMS: Gordon and Ruth (Asia), Sylvia Jeanes (Malaysia, retired), Rev Lex and Mrs June Macqueen (NSW, retired)
SILA: Graham and Ellie Scott (Melbourne)
BCA: Rev Mike and Mrs Sandra Uptin
Servants: Mark, Cathy and Tom Delaney (Asia)
BSHS Chaplaincy: Vacant
Indigenous Christian Leadership: Aunty Jean Phillips

We continue to pray for former parishioners, Reverends Rob and Jenni Weekes, working in Alice Springs, Rob as Police, Fire and Emergency Services Chaplain, and Jenni as Hospital Chaplain.
