Hi, I’m Bruce Wilson, the rector’s warden and a parish councillor at St Andrew’s South Brisbane.

My wife Judy, also a parish councillor, and I have been Christians all our lives and have been parishioners here for 20 years. We have enjoyed contributing to St Andrew’s in a number of different ways over that time, including hosting a bible study group and fellowship activities.

In late 2021, Judy and I will celebrate 50 years of happy marriage. We have three married children and eight grandchildren and we feel truly blessed that they are all presently living in Brisbane. Many of them have also been parishioners of St Andrew’s.

In my work life, I was originally a civil engineer, and later served as a Director-General of several Queensland government departments for 22 years, working for governments from both sides of politics.

Now in retirement, I do some part-time consulting and mentoring. I chair the Finance and Diocesan Services Commission of the Anglican Church Southern Queensland and I also chair a syndicate of the CEO Institute.

For relaxation, I enjoy bike riding, surfing, gardening, reading, giving hospitality, travel, playing bridge, and, of course, engaging with our grandchildren.
